I needed to figure out a bulletin board that would encourage appropriate behaviors in our classroom. We already have a treasure chest full of great prizes for the children to win. In order to get the prize, we move Mickey Mouse Ears (with their picture on it) up a strip when we catch a child being good. This strip is attached to their trifold schedule so is always near for the child to see how far they have to go to win the prize. Here is a picture of the trifold with the Mickey Mouse Ears:
When they reach the top, they get to choose their prize from the treasure chest. So going from that I decided that we needed to make a treasure chest full of toys. I got out my Gypsy and found the cuts I needed, made the sizes I needed and made a great treasure chest! The treasure chest comes from Life is a Beach and is cut as large as I could get it, 12″ x 10″. The doll and bear are made about 4″ , the rocket ship is 2/1/2″ and the lizard and snake are about 4″ long by 2-3″ high. The doll and the bear came from a Child’s Year cartridge.
I pop dotted the toys inside and used my iRock by Imaginisce to attach jewels onto the chest for details. I am quite pleased by how it turned out. Next, I cut out Mickey Mouse heads from Mickey and Friends cartridge, in black to scatter around the board to tie it all in with the Mickey Mouse ears the children have. The heads are cut at 4″.
I cut out the title ” I Can Do It! Yes! at 5″. I used the black font from Boys will be Boys cartridge. Next I added flashcard visuals, made from Boardmaker, matted with a simple rounded corner rectangle in blue.
This is the end result! It really ties in with the Mouse Ears and helps to remind the children of what they could earn for great behavior. I have cut files on my gypsy for anyone who would like them. Leave a comment to let me know how you like it. Leave your email address if you would like the cut files. Thanks for looking!
I was so lucky last week, as my friend saved a large sampling of carpet material from her office, for me to use! It was headed for the garbage as they were sales samples that were no longer of use, but she knew that I would find some crafty purpose for them. So, today I’m…
Yes we are now on the second day of the hop, for your inspiration. Hosted by Creations with Kathryn. I will make this simple and sweet as usual and let you get on with the hop.
I do hope you are having a great time, seeing both days and all the great projects!
Here is a layout I did for you with the Recollections paper pack from last year’s collection. I just love this paper it is so beautiful, and it went great with my little pumpkin’s pics. Using Happy Haunting cricut cartridge all over again for the cuts, made a perfect layout!
I hope you are having a fabulous weekend and ready to roll with some new ideas!! After all this is the best time of year to craft!
Hello again! I had a wonderful birthday last week and I now need to make a lot of thank you cards for my fantastic family. So, I thought I should try my hand at one of the sketches at card patterns. I also thought I would challenge myself and make the card using scraps. I’m really happy with how it turned out, I only wish I made the flower a little smaller.
I used Cricut cartridges “accent essentials” for the flower and “paperlace 1” for the medallion. I also inked just about everything with 3 ink colors, a gold, a coral, and a burnt orange.
And of course I had to do something on the inside, however a little simpler than I normally do because I wanted to leave room for my personal message. Thanks!
It is midway through October and I finally have some time to post what I’ve been doing lately. I been busy making diecuts and working with Boardmaker visuals to complete some new bulletin boards for our class. They are finally done!
The first bulletin board is outside our classroom and is there to showcase our little ones art. Basically all I did was get out my Cricut, my Speaking of Fall cartridge and cut the title. Here’s a picture of the Bulletin Board and a close up showing the details on the title.
I finally figured out how to make a picture gallery! As I didn’t add pictures of all the cards and such I did over the summer, I thought I would make up a gallery to showcase all my work. If you need instructions or have any questions, leave me a comment and I’ll get back to you. I used my Cricut for all of these. I do have gypsy files for most of my work and would be willing to share them as soon as I figure out how to add that type of link. Until I do you could ask me for them, give me your email address and I will send the file to anyone who would like a copy o the files. Hope you like my work! I would love to hear what you think! Thanks for looking.
Welcome to my new blog! As this is a work in progress it will take awhile before I get everything done and figured out. I have imported all the posts etc, from my old blog and hopefully you will enjoy looking at my work and leave me some comments. I absolutely love my Cricut Expression and over the summer bought an Imagine as well. Hopefully I will be able to post some of my new cards this week as I learn my way around this blog.
It’s me again! I have started a new blog and a new look! Hope you like it! As the name of my blog states, this is all about Cricut and what I have made with my Cricut Expression. I love to create new cards, home decor and some scrapbooking. I have been mostly using digital scrapbooking but have been playing around with printing the digital version and then adding my cricut cuts to it. When I finish this I will definitely post the results. Eventually I will be able to share my gypsy files as well. Thanks for looking.
